Instagram blocked your account’s activities?
There was a day that Instagram blocked my account from liking or commenting on other people’s post. It was a weekend so I had plenty of spare time on my hands because I don’t typically work on clients’ tasks on those days.
I was connecting with people a lot on the platform – following people, liking and commenting on posts and exchanging of DMs (direct messages).
For a digital business person such as myself, it is inevitable that I network a lot in social media platforms. Instagram happens to be my main point of contact on social media, so naturally, I work on it a lot.
I get my clients, collaborations and brand deals through Instagram now more than ever.
But during that day, Instagram finally said “enough is enough” so it blocked me from doing anything.
If your Instagram account got blocked, here’s what you should do:
- Unlike some posts that you made. You can see the posts that you’ve Liked all in one place by going to your profile and tap “Options” button – a gear icon on iPhone/iPad, and three dots on Android – then, tap “Posts You’ve Liked”.
- To un-Like any of the posts that you’ve Liked, simply go to the post & deselect the “❤” icon below it. Don’t worry, the user won’t be notified that you’ve unLiked the post.
- Log off the Instagram app for a few hours. Or at least on that account, ’cause I know that some of us have multiple accounts logged in our Instagram app.
You should be fine after 24 hours and you can resume your normal activities on Instagram. The app only blocks an account if it sees it spammy, so when you load it with lots of activities in a short span of time it’ll see your account as such.
When you get out of Instagram blocking your account, make sure to do activities sporadically to avoid being blocked again or worse, Instagram shutting down your account.
Were you blocked by Instagram, too? What did you do to get out of it?
